Sabah Art Gallery Logo


The Sabah Art Gallery organizes annual exhibitions and events that promotes work by local and international artists. Annual Art Selection is conducted to encourage local talent and to increase the collection of the Gallery.

The Sabah Art Gallery Conservation Building is located in Kota Kinabalu and is first 'Green' building in Borneo, with distinctive design it's an attraction in itself.

  • Question 1: What are the gallery‚Äôs annual art exhibition and activities?

    These are the annual art exhibition/ activities at organised by SAG;-

    • - New Talent Exhibition
    • - Invitational Art Exhibition
    • - Sabah Women Art Exhibition
    • - Sabah Annual Art Exhibition or KPTNS (Karya Pilihan Tahunan Negeri Sabah)

    Question 2: How can I join exhibitions organised by SAG?

    SAG welcomes Sabahan and Malaysian or international artist residing in Sabah to join our annual New Talent Exhibition, Invitational Art Exhibition (by invitation) and Sabah Women Art Exhibition (women participants only).

    You may join by submitting your artwork for the respective exhibition to the gallery and fill in the necessary forms. The gallery will decide which artwork that will be exhibited. Please contact us for more details.

    Question 3: Is there any exhibition participation fees?

    For exhibition or activities organised by SAG, there are NO fees required. However, SAG will require certain percentage of commission for every artwork that was sold during the exhibition. Rental fees are required for other organisers.

    Question 4: How can I join KPTNS?

    Sabahans and Malaysian who are residing in Sabah may join KPTNS according to the terms and conditions stated in the participation form. Participants may can download or obtain the Participation Form at the SAG or submission centers.

  • Question 1: Can outsiders rent the gallery?

    Sabah Art Gallery also provides facilities and gallery spaces for rental (subject to availability). Rental forms can be downloaded in the Rental page.

    Question 2: Does photo shoot of video shoot session permissible in the gallery

    Yes but with prior reservation and required fees.
